Marketing planning starts with knowing your ideal customer

Marketing Planning can cover just one campaign to engage with a specific audience or a targeted launch programme for a new service, through to a full strategic overview and plan to support your business goals in the short, mid and long-term.

The one key step I always include in any strategy and planning project is to work with you to define your ideal customer. Without this, your marketing is not going to talk to the people you want to sell your services to, it’s not going to generate sales leads and it’s not going to help to grow your business.

I also look at the ‘Why’ of your business and your goals for the future. Then and only then do we move onto the planning.

Defining the What, Where and When

Marketing planning will look at the ‘what, where and when’ that will grab the attention of your ideal customers and get them interested to want to know more about your services.

I can work with you to create a plan for a specific activity or launch if you just wish to focus on just 1 or 2 elements of marketing, or I can develop a full annual plan to gain some real traction for your business.

Part of any strategy, however simple, is to define who your ideal client is so your ‘marketing’ time is used wisely and productively. I see so many people disillusioned because of the time and effort spent posting/tweeting and creating memes that get no real engagement. The simple fact is that your content is not talking to anyone if your ideal client is seen as ‘everyone’.
